The Cedar Glen Secret

Sandra Margaret Maitland

Illustrations by Linda Leon

WHILE SPENDING THE MONTH OF JULY with her Aunt Amy in the country, Cathy discovers a tiny pair of black boots under a stump. They belong to Wiley, one of the little people called 'Snippets' who live in the cedar glen. Wiley offers Cathy his friendship if she can answer a riddle; the secret and its surprises come later.

Sandra Margaret Maitland

Author

After specializing in music during high school, Sandra Margaret Maitland entered the work force as a clerk-typist for Falconbridge Nickel Mines Limited, but having tried almost every position open to women within the company, and finding all dull and restrictive to a creative spirt, she left the corporate world to pursue her first interest—writing. Since then, she has written novels, non-fiction articles for magazines and newspapers, and scripts for television and industry. She lives on a farm in Chelmsford, Ontario, where much of her inspiration comes while walking along the Vermilion River or through the cedar glen.

Illustrator

Linda Leon studied Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba, and became a Properties Builder and Painter for Theatre Calgary.
