The Cedar Glen Secret

Sandra Margaret Maitland

Illustrations by Linda Leon

WHILE SPENDING THE MONTH OF JULY with her Aunt Amy in the country, Cathy discovers a tiny pair of black boots under a stump. They belong to Wiley, one of the little people called 'Snippets' who live in the cedar glen. Wiley offers Cathy his friendship if she can answer a riddle; the secret and its surprises come later.

Sandra Margaret Maitland

Author

Sandra Margaret Maitland was living in the northern Ontario town of Chelmsford when she wrote The Cedar Glen Secret. Her farm actually had a large cedar glen with old stumps, which was the inspiration for the story.

After writing the children's story, she went on to study Journalism at Cambrian College and became a freelance writer selling articles to newspapers and magazines.

She now lives in Yellowknife where she has returned to writing fiction.

Linda Leon

Illustrator

Linda Leon studied Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba, and became a Properties Builder and Painter for Theatre Calgary.
